Ted Jones '64 reports on the 2026 spring golf outing

June 3, 2026

What joy! Finally to return on June 3, 2026 to The Course at Yale, and it was worth the wait. From the repaved and rerouted entrance road, through the updated and refurbished Clubhouse / Widdy’s Restaurant, to the wonderfully wide-open restoration of the previously deeply-forested course, everyone was full of accolades.

And the weather could not have been more ideal for taking it all in. Assembled to experience the new sweeping views were Larry Capodilupo and Deb, John Evans, Bill Galvin, Butch Hetherington, Jim Heyworth, Ted Jones, Dave and Marcia Kalayjian, Dave Lindsay, Martin and Melisssa Padley, Jan Truebner, and John Tully. To my mind, the course played about the same as in the past, but the visuals changed the mood. We all had great fun.

The next stop was of course Mory’s for dinner, where Elise made sure we were well cared for. The conversations and laughter flowed like the libations Elise poured, like old and good friends reconvening and picking up where we last left off. We did make a serious interlude to celebrate the life of Don Edwards, a long-time and well-loved member of our group.  We were fortunate to be joined by his daughter Jen and her husband Ricardo, as we shared stories and memories of Don.  We will miss him.

We are all excited about returning to The Course in the fall, hopefully joined by many who could not make this outing. See you then.
